Neurolinguistic Communication Profile

Does everybody hear, see or feel your message?

The Neurolinguistic Communication Profile (NCP) assessment, uses an innovative and useful model showing the relationship between an individual's thinking, their communication preference and the ability to establish rapport with others. The NCP focuses on assessing sensory-based preferences (visual, auditory, and kinesthetic) for taking in information, organising it and communicating information to others. It offers insights and practical tools for communicating more flexibly and effectively with others, regardless of their preferences.

The NCP is a guide for establishing rapport quickly. Ideal as a centrepiece for training on topics including management, coaching, teamwork, and sales.

Improve on-the-job communication skills, interpersonal relationships, and productivity with the revised and expanded Neurolinguistic Communication Profile (NCP). Based on the powerful model of Neurolinguistic Programming™, the NCP enables participants to identify their unconscious preferences toward one of three sensory channels used in filtering and communicating information: auditory, visual, or kinesthetic.

NCP Learning Outcomes:

  • Recognise one’s communication preference – and those of others
  • Communicate more effectively with others who have different communication preferences
  • Understand how conflicts occur when communication preferences differ
  • Discover how to increase productivity, motivation, and the accurate exchange of information
  • Gain flexibility in striving to match another person’s communication style

By analysing communication preferences, individuals are able to determine the relative strengths and weaknesses of their own communication styles and therefore develop strategies to increase flexibility and build rapport with others.

Effective when used as a stand-alone instrument as well as a component in a larger training programme focusing on communication, learning, selling skills, marketing, problem-solving, management, coaching, and other topics.

How it Works

The Neurolinguistic Communication Profile starts with a self-assessment that takes individuals approximately 20 minutes to complete. Individuals respond to 65 items relating to communication. The result is a set of scores in each of the three dimensions: Sensory Modality, Thinking Style, and Preferred Mode of Expression. Combining these results produces an Overall Communication Profile. The NCP also includes a quick assessment of rapport allowing individuals to look at communication strengths and weaknesses with another individual.
